Along with the sling (which I didn't mention was on clearance...and my favourite fabric choice was in my size!). We also got some new Thirsties diaper covers from The Cloth Diaper Shop, because Maeva's growing and Anderson is totally not interested in the potty. I love the new Thirsties duo wrap in "Blackbird", which became Maeva's wardrobe for her impromptu 6 month portraits. Here's my smiley little girl. And she got to steal the spotlight in these shots while Anderson napped yesterday.

Maeva is 6 months old and always wants to be in Mama's arms. If she can see me she wants to be with me. I know this is a normal part of development, but it can be very exhausting...especially the hourly wakings for just a little snuggle. Or how she refuses to sit in the Bumbo to eat solids off a spoon. My little miss mu turned a half-year today. We celebrated the same way we did for her big brother...with blueberries. It is great to have your half birthday in the middle of Sudbury's Blueberry Festival. Today was the blueberry garden party at the Ukrainian seniors centre. We were eating dinner and Maeva had a little pout like she wanted something too, despite having just fed. Since she is so close to 6 months, I thought I'd let her try something. I had bought some organic peaches and apples with the intention of making a bit of food for her, but it has been so hot. So I mashed a little bit of ripe banana instead. She loved it! Well the month is over. I did it, I shot and posted a photo for each day in April. It was fun, and I have quite the collection of images, posted and not posted. I'm liking the vintage look, square crop and may continue building a set of them. So my camera battery died and I didn't put it on the charger. We went to Science North today and I missed so many cute photo ops of Anderson and his friend Emmy checking out all the dinos and playing in water and holding hands. A Christmas of quilts. Before the holidays, I finished a quilt for myself that I had been working on for years. In December I made one for John for xmas, all tartan fabrics. And Anderson received one that I started when I was 16 and first learning to quilt from my Grandmaman. Yesterday, we picked up the table and chair set that was mine as a child. Anderson has been loving it to set up all his "guys" for snack time. John must have had the exact same set, because I found a photo of him sitting at it at age 2. Anderson turned 20 months today...so pretty much the same age. I couldn't find any photos of myself at the set.

...I have to say is the cutest thing ever. I’ve signed up for prenatal yoga, but I thought I’d get a head start at home and involve Anderson. I lit some candles and put on India Solitudes and set out with little expectations (having a toddler underfoot). It worked out great. It was another perfect labour day weekend. The weather was great, so it really was a last hurrah to summer. We’re trying to soak up the last of the summer sunshine; it seems to have all come at once, so we’re making the best of it. Anderson has accumulated a few dolls since he was born; I even dug up my old favourite dolls from my childhood. Dolls were hands-down my favourite toy, so I was excited to dig them out. Some restaurants don’t have a highchair, namely Laughing Buddha (they do have a change table now) and relatives and friends who don’t have babies, usually don’t have highchairs. I have a little fold up seat that can clip onto a chair, but sometimes I have so much to carry, and it is just one more thing, that I’d rather not carry. Anderson had his first taste of Nonni's Tuna Fish Spaghetti. And he loved it!! Some pepole think it is weird to eat tuna spaghetti, but it is sooo good, and a nice alternative to beef. Here is my one year portrait of the little guy. I can't believe a whole year has gone by. He is more fun every day as his little character is emerging. He can say Marbles "mabas" and "dada" and I think "mama" (he usually saves it for when he's whining and lifting my shirt). And he started walking!!! Just last night! As a cloth diapering mom, I want to spread the word on how easy it is. Much easier than I thought! Cloth diapering has come a long way since a big piece of folded cotton, pins, and plastic pants. And it's not like you have to drag them dirty diapers down to the river and scrub them with a rock. Washing them is as easy as dumping a pail into the machine and pressing a button.
